Location
The Palace Hotel occupies a great position in the centre of Manchester. The hotel is close to most major attractions in the city and several transport links, including air, rail and road networks. Manchester also has the Metrolink tram network, which is a convenient way in which to navigate around both the city and the Greater Manchester area.
By air: The Hotel is situated approximately 9 miles or a 20minute drive from Manchester International Airport. The airport train station offers frequent services to and from Manchester Piccadilly Station.
By rail: There are two train stations within easy reach of the hotel. Manchester Piccadilly, the city’s primary station, is approximately a 10minute walk from the hotel. Oxford Road Station can be found opposite the Palace Hotel and provides rail links for the North of England.
By Road: Manchester and the Palace Hotel are easily reached via primary road networks. The directions below should be referred to as guidelines only, and guests are advised to consult a route planner or similar for traffic updates before travelling.
Approaching on the northbound M6, exit the motorway at junction 19 to join the northbound A556. Follow the road to the roundabout, taking the third exit leading onto the eastbound M56 towards Manchester. At junction 3a follow the road onto the A5103 for 5 miles. At the subsequent roundabout take the third exit onto Mancunian Way, and then take the first left at the next roundabout onto Cambridge Street. Take the second right onto Hulme Street and continue along this road to reach the Palace Hotel.
Approaching on the southbound M6, exit at junction 30 to join the M61. At junction 1 of the M61 take the right-hand exit onto the southbound M60. Follow the road as far as junction 12, then take the ramp to join the M602. At the end of the M602 continue on to the A57 towards Manchester City Centre. Stay on the A57 as it becomes the A57(M) for just over a mile, then take the sliproad towards Sackville Street. Turn left off Sackville Street onto Charles Street and the hotel will be just ahead.
Approaching on the westbound M62, follow the M62 onto the M60 as far as junction 12, taking the sliproad onto the M602. From here the directions are the same as for those travelling from the southbound M6.
The Palace Hotel does not have on site parking but guests may use the nearby Euro Car Park on Pritchard Street (Charges apply).
